Argentina, the Netherlands, Germany, India, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Latvia and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.

Among the main exporting countries, Latvia, with a CAGR of +195.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The United States was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 28% of total imports. Mexico (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 8.8% share, followed by China (7.2%), Germany (6.5%), the Netherlands (5.7%) and Poland (5.5%). The following importers - Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons), Russia (X tons), Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and the UK (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to casein and caseinates imports into the United States stood at -1.6%. At the same time, China (+19.4%), Russia (+18.9%), the Philippines (+13.6%), the Netherlands (+10.3%), Mexico (+4.3%) and South Korea (+3.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported casein and caseinates into Puerto Rico, comprising 26% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with a 9.5% share of global imports. It was followed by China, with a 7.9% share.

In the United States, casein and caseinates imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (+4.7% per year) and China (+19.3% per year).
