The Netherlands (X tons) took a 6.3% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Poland (5.6%). From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +30.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), the United States ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 64% share of total exports. Thailand, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Belgium, Germany and Hong Kong SAR lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Russia, with a CAGR of +38.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, China (X tons), distantly followed by Japan (X tons) were the key importers of frozen cuts of chicken, together constituting 22% of total imports. The following importers - the Philippines (X tons), Cuba (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Angola (X tons), South Africa (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) - together made up 29% of total imports.

Imports into China increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Philippines (+15.2%), Cuba (+8.0%), Iraq (+7.2%), the United Arab Emirates (+5.1%), Saudi Arabia (+3.9%) and Japan (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +15.2% from 2012-2021. South Africa and Angola experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Netherlands (-2.6%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.1%), Vietnam (-3.4%) and Hong Kong SAR (-14.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+9.5 p.p.) and the Philippines (+2.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Vietnam and Hong Kong SAR saw its share reduced by -1.9% and -8.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported frozen cuts of chicken into Puerto Rico, comprising 23% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with a 7.7% share of global imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China totaled +16.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-0.1% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+5.0% per year).
