Mexico (X tons), India (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), Egypt (X tons), the United States (X tons), Finland (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Egypt (+320.4%), Mexico (+11.7%), India (+10.5%), South Korea (+6.5%), Belgium (+6.5%), Spain (+5.2%) and Germany (+3.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Egypt emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +320.4% from 2012-2021. Finland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Malaysia (-2.6%), Saudi Arabia (-4.9%), Kuwait (-6.6%) and the United States (-19.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+15 p.p.), Belgium (+2.8 p.p.), Egypt (+2.4 p.p.), Spain (+2.1 p.p.), Mexico (+2 p.p.) and India (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Saudi Arabia (-2.1 p.p.), Kuwait (-2.1 p.p.) and the United States (-16.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest glass fibres and wool supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 27% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with an 8.5% share.
In China, glass fibres and wool exports expanded at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United States (+0.3% per year) and Germany (+6.5% per year).

In 2021, the United States (X tons) and France (X tons) represented the main importers of glass fibres and glass woolaround the world, together committing 27% of total imports. Mexico (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Germany (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 14% share of total imports. South Korea (X tons), India (X tons), China (X tons), Canada (X tons), Japan (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), the UK (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +21.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest glass fibres and wool importing markets into Puerto Rico were China ($X), the United States ($X) and Mexico ($X), together comprising 33% of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, France, South Korea, Japan, the UK, India, Canada, Vietnam, Denmark and Saudi Arabia, which together accounted for a further 33%.
Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +17.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
