At the same time, India (+12.3%), France (+12.0%), Belgium (+10.9%), Germany (+4.1%) and the Netherlands (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +12.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Mexico (-13.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-13.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of China increased by +5.5 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest invalid carriage supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 59% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 8.3% share of global exports. It was followed by France, with a 3.4% share.

In China, invalid carriage exports increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-0.4% per year) and France (+8.3% per year).

Imports into the United States increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Poland (+18.2%), India (+17.2%), Malaysia (+13.5%), Spain (+11.6%), Italy (+9.0%), Belgium (+8.9%), France (+6.6%), the Netherlands (+6.3%), the UK (+5.6%), Germany (+2.9%) and Mexico (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +18.2% from 2012-2021. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. India (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Japan saw its share reduced by -2.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X), Japan ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 36% share of total imports. The UK, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Mexico, India and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.

Among the main importing countries, India, with a CAGR of +17.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
