China (+27 p.p.), India (+3.6 p.p.), Singapore (+2 p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the United States, France, the UK, Belgium and Free Zones saw its share reduced by -1.8%, -2%, -3.3%, -6.3% and -22.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported iodine, fluorine and bromine into Puerto Rico, comprising 31% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with an 11% share of global imports. It was followed by India, with a 10% share.
