In 2021, Ukraine (X tons), distantly followed by India (X tons), Russia (X tons), the United States (X tons) and France (X tons) represented the key exporters of millet, together mixing up 74% of total exports. Turkey (X tons), Mali (X tons), Canada (X tons), Myanmar (X tons), Austria (X tons) and China (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Nepal (X tons), Kenya (X tons), Canada (X tons), the United States (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to millet imports into Indonesia stood at +18.9%. At the same time, Iraq (+42.8%), Kenya (+32.3%), Poland (+29.1%), the United States (+19.8%), Turkey (+10.9%), Canada (+8.5%), the United Arab Emirates (+7.7%), Germany (+4.2%), Belgium (+2.1%), the Netherlands (+2.0%) and Italy (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +42.8% from 2012-2021. Nepal experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Indonesia, Kenya, Iraq, the United States, Turkey, Poland and the United Arab Emirates increased by +11, +3.5, +2.7, +2.4, +2.3, +2.1 and +1.6 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported millet into Puerto Rico, comprising 16% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 7.1% share of global imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 6.5% share.
