In 2021, the Puerto Rican porcelain technical ware market decreased by -14.7% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. All these countries together took approx. 29% share of total exports. France (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Japan (X tons) and Germany (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Indonesia (+24.6%), Austria (+12.8%) and Malaysia (+9.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +24.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, France (-1.5%), Germany (-13.1%), Japan (-27.3%) and the United States (-35.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Indonesia (+17 p.p.), China (+11 p.p.) and Austria (+5.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-2.6 p.p.), Japan (-6.3 p.p.) and the United States (-27 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the largest porcelain technical ware supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 47% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 16% share of global exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 9.7% share.

In the United States, porcelain technical ware exports increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+8.7% per year) and Indonesia (+34.5% per year).

Russia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +46.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
