By contrast, Latvia (-2.0%), Italy (-2.0%), Germany (-8.5%), Ukraine (-11.1%) and the United States (-19.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Spain (+19 p.p.), Russia (+5.3 p.p.), Poland (+3.7 p.p.), Turkey (+2.8 p.p.), Belarus (+2.7 p.p.) and Austria (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Germany, Ukraine and the United States saw its share reduced by -4.7%, -6.1% and -20.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Spain ($X) remains the largest tomato juice supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 29% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 13% share of global exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 6.9% share.

In Spain, tomato juice exports increased at an average annual rate of +23.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (+2.9% per year) and Russia (+2.6% per year).
