In value terms, crude glycerol imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

In 2021, Spain (X tons) was the main crude glycerol supplier to Qatar, accounting for a 90% share of total imports. Moreover, crude glycerol imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), tenfold.
From 2015 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+51.3% per year) and the UK (-64.7% per year).
