Kuwait (X tons), Pakistan (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone exports from Qatar, together accounting for 87% of total exports. These countries were followed by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which together accounted for a further 13%.

Imports into Qatar
In 2021, the amount of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imported into Qatar dropped dramatically to X tons, reducing by -42.5% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 384% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted a tangible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 55%. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Iran (X tons) constituted the largest gypsum, anhydrite and limestone supplier to Qatar, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imports from Iran exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Oman (X tons), twofold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Iran stood at +6.4%.
In value terms, the largest gypsum, anhydrite and limestone suppliers to Qatar were Oman ($X) and Iran ($X).
