The United States (X tons) was the main destination for aromatic polyamines exports from South Korea, accounting for a 27% share of total exports. Moreover, aromatic polyamines exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, India (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Thailand (X tons), with a 9.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United States stood at +4.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (-5.1% per year) and Thailand (-3.1% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for aromatic polyamines and their derivatives, salts thereof exports from South Korea, comprising 29% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Japan, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +7.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (-0.8% per year) and Japan (-1.7% per year).

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aromatic polyamines imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 87% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Overall, import price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine years.
