The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 50% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. Japan (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main destinations of articles of zinc exports from South Korea, together accounting for 49% of total exports. These countries were followed by Mexico, Malaysia, Bahrain, the United States, India, Libya, Vietnam and Kuwait, which together accounted for a further 24%.

In 2021, the amount of articles of zinc imported into South Korea contracted significantly to X tons, reducing by -29.2% against the previous year. Overall, imports showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 154%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of articles of zinc to South Korea, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with an 8.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 2.2% share.
