China (X units), Japan (X units) and the Philippines (X units) were the main destinations of breathing appliances exports from South Korea, together accounting for 52% of total exports. The United States, Thailand, Taiwan (Chinese), Vietnam, Hong Kong SAR, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Indonesia and Canada lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Canada (with a CAGR of +129.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, breathing appliances imports reached $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -19.1% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 47%. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X units), China (X units) and the Philippines (X units) were the main suppliers of breathing appliances imports to South Korea, together comprising 72% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +251.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of breathing appliances and gas masks to South Korea, comprising 43% of total imports.
