Mongolia (X tons) was the main destination for wooden joinery and carpentry exports from South Korea, accounting for a 57% share of total exports. In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), China ($X) and Mongolia ($X) constituted the largest markets for wooden joinery and carpentry exported from South Korea worldwide, with a combined 48% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Cambodia, the United States, Iraq, the Philippines, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, which together accounted for a further 25%.
Cambodia, with a CAGR of +83.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average wooden joinery and carpentry export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -20.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. In 2021, the amount of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood imported into South Korea rose slightly to X tons, with an increase of 4.6% compared with the previous year. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -13.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 34%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wooden joinery and carpentry imports stood at $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +32.2% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 32%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of wooden joinery and carpentry to South Korea, accounting for a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, wooden joinery and carpentry imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Indonesia (X tons), with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+40.5% per year) and Indonesia (-1.2% per year).
