The South Korean shaft coupling market contracted to $X in 2022, reducing by -9.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. In general, export price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Overall, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 26%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, shaft coupling imports reached $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of shaft coupling to South Korea, with a 49% share of total imports. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
