Ferro-silico-manganese imports into South Korea declined to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -6.7% compared with the year before. Overall, imports recorded a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ferro-silico-manganese imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Malaysia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of ferro-silico-manganese to South Korea, accounting for a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, ferro-silico-manganese imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), ninefold. Vietnam (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Malaysia stood at +89.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (-16.8% per year) and Vietnam (-1.7% per year).
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ferro-silico-manganese to South Korea, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 7.9% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 7.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Malaysia stood at +87.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (-1.2% per year) and India (-19.4% per year).
