As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, meat meals and pellets exports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 19,775%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Vietnam (X tons) was the main destination for meat meals and pellets exports from South Korea, accounting for a 100% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines (X kg), with a 0.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Vietnam totaled +65.7%.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the key foreign market for flours, meals and pellets of meat or meat offal exports from South Korea, comprising 100% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Philippines ($X), with a 0.2% share of total exports.

In 2021, the amount of flours, meals and pellets of meat or meat offal imported into South Korea rose sharply to X tons, with an increase of 8.4% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 106%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, meat meals and pellets imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 104%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Australia (X tons) constituted the largest meat meals and pellets supplier to South Korea, accounting for a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, meat meals and pellets imports from Australia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, New Zealand (X tons), twofold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

Among the main suppliers, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +72.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
