Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments fell to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 174% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Fiji (X units), China (X units) and Thailand (X units) were the main destinations of exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from South Korea, with a combined 61% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Fiji (with a CAGR of +1,719.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments exports from South Korea, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Fiji, with a 9.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to China stood at -12.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (-14.6% per year) and Fiji (+1,196.2% per year).

The average export price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -21.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 47%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

For the eighth year in a row, South Korea recorded growth in purchases abroad of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments, which increased by 25% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +118.1% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 29%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments rose remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment supplier to South Korea, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), twofold. Myanmar (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +5.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+6.5% per year) and Myanmar (+41.4% per year).
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), China ($X) and Myanmar ($X) were the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment suppliers to South Korea, together accounting for 81% of total imports.
Myanmar, with a CAGR of +37.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -12.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Cambodia (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
