The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 33%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X units), Vietnam (X units) and Indonesia (X units) were the main destinations of pharmaceutical rubber articles exports from South Korea, together comprising 73% of total exports. These countries were followed by the United States, Japan, India, Israel and Italy, which together accounted for a further 20%.

Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, pharmaceutical rubber articles imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 111%. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled -4.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+12.4% per year) and the United States (+6.8% per year).
