Overall, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -5.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 39%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 39%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of non-reinforced rubber tubing exports from South Korea, together accounting for 47% of total exports. Vietnam, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, India, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Thailand and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +231.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for non-reinforced rubber tubing exported from South Korea worldwide, together comprising 47% of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Mexico, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, Hungary, the Czech Republic, India, Poland, Japan and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 43%.
Among the main countries of destination, Hungary, with a CAGR of +236.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-reinforced rubber tubing export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 14%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Republic of Korea
In 2021, imports of rubber tubing not reinforced into South Korea shrank to X tons, reducing by -6.3% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports stood at $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 96% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-reinforced rubber tubing to South Korea, accounting for a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X tons), twofold. Japan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled -3.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+179.7% per year) and Japan (-4.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tubing not reinforced to South Korea, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with an 18% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at -5.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+201.4% per year) and Japan (-3.6% per year).

In 2021, the average non-reinforced rubber tubing import price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 10% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
