The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with an 8.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United States totaled +3.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+1.8% per year) and the Netherlands (+1.3% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for saccharin and its salts exports from South Korea, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States stood at +2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+3.1% per year) and the Netherlands (+1.5% per year).

The average saccharin export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -1.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 6.5% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were China ($X per ton) and Pakistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($X per ton) and Mexico ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Imports into Republic of Korea
Saccharin imports into South Korea soared to X tons in 2021, with an increase of 19% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 41%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, saccharin imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 49%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main supplier of saccharin to South Korea, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total imports.
