The United States (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of safes and strongboxes exports from South Korea, together accounting for 30% of total exports. Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Hong Kong SAR, Libya, Iraq, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ethiopia (with a CAGR of +15.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Safes and strongboxes imports into South Korea surged to X tons in 2021, growing by 50% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, safes and strongboxes imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The average safes and strongboxes import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
