The United States (X tons), China (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of stranded wire exports from South Korea, with a combined 41% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese), Thailand, Belgium, Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, Mexico, Italy and Poland, which together accounted for a further 35%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +7.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
