Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, coffee extract imports amounted to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 14%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Hungary (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of coffee extract imports to Romania, with a combined 64% share of total imports.
