For the third consecutive year, Romania recorded growth in overseas shipments of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof, which increased by 3.5% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 14%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, computing machinery exports totaled $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Moldova (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main destinations of computing machinery exports from Romania, together comprising 46% of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Ukraine, Greece, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Bulgaria and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 37%.
