Sweden, with a CAGR of +1,979.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average baby food export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 92% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of food preparations for infants decreased by -1.1% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, imports saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 17%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, baby food imports contracted slightly to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -37.3% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 21%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, France (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of baby food to Romania, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, baby food imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Austria (X tons), with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from France totaled +11.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+2.5% per year) and Austria (+12.1% per year).
In value terms, the largest baby food suppliers to Romania were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Austria ($X), with a combined 78% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of +18.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average baby food import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
