From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Grape imports into Romania expanded notably to X tons in 2022, surging by 10% compared with 2021. In general, imports recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, grape imports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

In 2022, Moldova (X tons) constituted the largest grape supplier to Romania, with a 36% share of total imports. Moreover, grape imports from Moldova exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X tons), with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Moldova stood at +16.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Greece (+11.1% per year) and Italy (-5.7% per year).

In value terms, the largest grape suppliers to Romania were Moldova ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 49% share of total imports.
