France (X kg) was the main destination for jute and jute-like fibers exports from Romania, accounting for a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, jute and jute-like fibers exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X kg), more than tenfold.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+14.0%).

Imports into Romania
In 2022, imports of jute and jute-like fibers into Romania dropped markedly to X tons, waning by -37.8% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 38,354%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, jute and jute-like fibers imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 277% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland (X tons), Moldova (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of jute and jute-like fibers imports to Romania, with a combined 96% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +57.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Poland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of jute and jute-like fibers to Romania, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Moldova ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 2.4% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the price for Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+58.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
