The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 528% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Hungary (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) were the main destinations of mandarin and clementine exports from Romania, with a combined 84% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +66.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Hungary ($X), Poland ($X) and Moldova ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for mandarin and clementine exported from Romania worldwide, with a combined 84% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+184.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Romania
In 2022, approx. X tons of tangerines, mandarins, clementines, satsumas were imported into Romania; waning by -2.5% compared with 2021 figures. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +5.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 22%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mandarin and clementine imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 31%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Greece (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mandarin and clementine to Romania, accounting for a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, mandarin and clementine imports from Greece exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), twofold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Greece totaled +8.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+4.3% per year) and Germany (+18.8% per year).
In value terms, Greece ($X), Turkey ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest mandarin and clementine suppliers to Romania, with a combined 78% share of total imports. Spain, Italy, Egypt and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
Among the main suppliers, Egypt, with a CAGR of +114.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average mandarin and clementine import price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mandarin and clementine import price increased by +57.9% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 16%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
