In 2021, imports of non-medical x-rays into Romania shrank rapidly to X tons, which is down by -23.7% on 2020. In general, total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +44.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 76% against the previous year. In value terms, non-medical x-ray imports shrank to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 132%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-medical x-ray imports to Romania, together accounting for 64% of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands and France, which together accounted for a further 29%.
