The Romanian boiler parts market surged to $X in 2021, growing by 29% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, showed a mild curtailment. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, boiler parts exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a deep slump. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of boiler parts exports from Romania, together comprising 77% of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Moldova, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Greece and the UK, which together accounted for a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Portugal (with a CAGR of +117.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for boiler parts exported from Romania were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Poland ($X), together accounting for 62% of total exports. France, Moldova, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, the UK, Hungary, Slovakia and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Portugal, with a CAGR of +110.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average boiler parts export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 41%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+17.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of parts of boilers for central heating increased by 4.1% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 123%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, boiler parts imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +61.9% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Slovakia (X tons), Italy (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of boiler parts imports to Romania, together comprising 65% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +27.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Slovakia ($X), Italy ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the largest boiler parts suppliers to Romania, with a combined 75% share of total imports.
