Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 58%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of pulp from fibres other than wood surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 77% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of pulp from fibres other than wood to Romania, accounting for a 85% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of pulp from fibres other than wood from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X tons), more than tenfold.
