The UK (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of sausage exports from Romania, together comprising 60% of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Germany, Belgium and Serbia, which together accounted for a further 31%.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the fifth year in a row, Romania recorded growth in supplies from abroad of sausages and similar products of meat, which increased by 13% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Poland (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of sausage imports to Romania, with a combined 61% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Greece, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 34%.
