From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sheet piling exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed buoyant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

France (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main destinations of sheet piling exports from Romania, with a combined 50% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Romania
In 2021, purchases abroad of sheet piling, shapes and sections (of iron or steel) was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports enjoyed a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 236% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sheet piling imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 159% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main suppliers of sheet piling imports to Romania, with a combined 63% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +88.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sheet piling suppliers to Romania were Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Hungary ($X), together accounting for 56% of total imports.
