In value terms, water-skis and surfboards exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 419%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Bulgaria (X units) was the main destination for water-skis and surfboards exports from Romania, with a 38% share of total exports. Moreover, water-skis and surfboards exports to Bulgaria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Greece (X units), twofold. Poland (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.7% share.

Imports into Romania
In 2022, the amount of water-skis, surfboards and sailboards imported into Romania reduced to X units, waning by -11.3% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 73%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, water-skis and surfboards imports rose to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 100%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

France (X units), Belgium (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of water-skis and surfboards imports to Romania, with a combined 54% share of total imports. Slovenia, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Germany and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.
