Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Moreover, worked flat glass imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hungary (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Turkey amounted to +2.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (+10.1% per year) and China (-13.9% per year).

In terms of the main suppliers, Poland, with a CAGR of +37.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, worked flat glass import price increased by +49.3% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
