In 2022, purchases abroad of alums increased by 105% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports recorded a buoyant expansion. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, alums imports plummeted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +27.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) was the main supplier of alums to Russia, accounting for a approx. 99.9% share of total imports.
