Cored arc-welding wire exports from Russia soared to X tons in 2021, rising by 35% on 2020. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 74%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cored arc-welding wire exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 119%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for cored arc-welding wire exports from Russia, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, cored arc-welding wire exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Lithuania (X tons), with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kazakhstan amounted to -5.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-21.9% per year) and Lithuania (-20.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan amounted to -2.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-13.6% per year) and Lithuania (-1.6% per year).

The average cored arc-welding wire export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 25% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2021, cored arc-welding wire imports into Russia rose modestly to X tons, picking up by 1.8% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +51.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, the average cored arc-welding wire import price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild descent. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
