In value terms, Latvia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for benzol (benzene), toluol (toluene) and xylol (xylenes) exports from Russia, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 27% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Latvia totaled +57.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (-4.3% per year) and Poland (+31.9% per year).

The average benzol, toluol and xylol export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 27% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild decrease. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to Latvia ($X per ton) and the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, imports of benzol (benzene), toluol (toluene) and xylol (xylenes) into Russia surged to X tons, with an increase of 163% against the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a remarkable increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Poland amounted to +19.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-10.8% per year) and Belarus (+24.0% per year).
