In general, exports continue to indicate buoyant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, glass bottle, jar and container exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +71.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan (X units), Belarus (X units) and Georgia (X units) were the main destinations of glass bottle, jar and container exports from Russia, together comprising 38% of total exports. Poland, Azerbaijan, France, Armenia, Belgium, Germany, Ukraine, the UK, Moldova and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 47%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +104.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, glass bottle, jar and container imports amounted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
