Carbides Market Size in the Russian Federation

The Russian carbides market contracted modestly to $X in 2022, declining by -4.1% against the previous year. In general, consumption saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the market value increased by 10% against the previous year. In 2022, the average carbides export price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -2.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 12%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2022, the amount of carbides imported into Russia reduced modestly to X tons, which is down by -2.7% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constituted the largest supplier of carbides to Russia, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 22% share of total imports.
