Belarus (X units) was the main destination for check valve exports from Russia, accounting for a 53% share of total exports. Moreover, check valve exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Armenia (X units), with a 6.9% share.

Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2021, the amount of check valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats imported into Russia soared to X units, jumping by 58% compared with 2020. In general, imports saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 129%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, check valve imports reached $X in 2021. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +19.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+35.4% per year) and France (+30.5% per year).

In value terms, the largest check valve suppliers to Russia were China ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 27% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Belarus, Lithuania, France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 22%.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +14.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average check valve import price amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -32.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 9.4% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
