In 2022, the average chili and pepper export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 96% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. In 2022, Israel (X tons) constituted the largest chili and pepper supplier to Russia, accounting for a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, chili and pepper imports from Israel exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belarus (X tons), fivefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Israel stood at +3.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+51.6% per year) and China (-4.9% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Israel stood at +1.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+46.4% per year) and China (-7.3% per year).
