The third position in this ranking was taken by Turkey (X tons), with a 7% share.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the key foreign market for coffee extracts, essences and concentrates exports from Russia, comprising 35% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Belarus stood at +19.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+62.3% per year) and Turkey (+118.3% per year).

In 2021, the average coffee extract export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -4.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 8.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Imports into the Russian Federation

Coffee extract imports into Russia rose to X tons in 2021, increasing by 2.3% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, coffee extract imports totaled $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Brazil (X tons), India (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of coffee extract imports to Russia, with a combined 41% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Switzerland, Indonesia, Ecuador, Belarus, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Malaysia and Singapore, which together accounted for a further 50%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Indonesia (with a CAGR of +40.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Among the main suppliers, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +46.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average coffee extract import price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 6.4%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
