The Russian plastic tableware and kitchenware market reduced markedly to $X in 2022, shrinking by -17.4% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2022, plastic tableware and kitchenware imports into Russia shrank to X tons, falling by -9.2% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plastic tableware and kitchenware imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 33%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of plastic tableware and kitchenware to Russia, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, plastic tableware and kitchenware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belarus (X tons), more than tenfold.
