Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Estonia (X square meters), Turkey (X square meters) and Ukraine (X square meters) were the main destinations of drawn glass and blown glass exports from Russia, with a combined 52% share of total exports. Poland, Tajikistan, Germany and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 8.6%.

In general, the export price, however, recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 59% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per square meter. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per square meter), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+23.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Russian Federation
Drawn glass and blown glass imports into Russia skyrocketed to X square meters in 2021, with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 241% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X square meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, drawn glass and blown glass imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a precipitous descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 117% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The Czech Republic (X square meters), Belarus (X square meters) and China (X square meters) were the main suppliers of drawn glass and blown glass imports to Russia, together accounting for 98% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +15.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of drawn glass and blown glass to Russia, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the Czech Republic stood at +13.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-2.0% per year) and the United States (-28.9% per year).
