Ukraine (X units), Belarus (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) were the main destinations of automotive lighting exports from Russia, together comprising 59% of total exports. These countries were followed by Azerbaijan, Romania, Brazil and Vietnam, which together accounted for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Brazil (with a CAGR of +86.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Romania ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the largest markets for automotive lighting exported from Russia worldwide, together accounting for 71% of total exports. Brazil, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the amount of automotive lighting imported into Russia skyrocketed to X units, growing by 18% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine years. Belarus (X units), China (X units) and South Korea (X units) were the main suppliers of automotive lighting imports to Russia, with a combined 57% share of total imports. The average automotive lighting import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 43%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while the price for Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
