In 2021, shipments abroad of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers increased by 72% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports saw a measured expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 48%. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Belarus (X units) was the main destination for non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exports from Russia, accounting for a 59% share of total exports. Moreover, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Ukraine (X units), with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Belarus stood at +21.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+12.5% per year) and Ukraine (-18.9% per year).
In value terms, Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Ukraine ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers exported from Russia worldwide, together comprising 63% of total exports. Latvia, Moldova and Azerbaijan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 2.1%.
Moldova, with a CAGR of +35.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 174% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2021, approx. X units of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers were imported into Russia; picking up by 7% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +90.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Ukraine (X units), China (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers imports to Russia, with a combined 69% share of total imports. The Philippines, Belarus, Italy, the United States and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +17.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-electronic hydro-, hygro-, psychrometers to Russia, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Ukraine, with an 8.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +15.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-0.1% per year) and Ukraine (+5.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 7.4% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers import price increased by +81.3% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 34%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
