In value terms, battered fish fillet exports dropped to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 58%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Belarus (X tons) was the main destination for battered fish fillet exports from Russia, accounting for a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, battered fish fillet exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X tons), twofold. Ukraine (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 20% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Belarus amounted to +36.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+8.4% per year) and Ukraine (+6.0% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for battered fish fillet exported from Russia were Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined 73% share of total exports.
Belarus, with a CAGR of +32.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average battered fish fillet export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 16% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible contraction. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tajikistan (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2021, imports of fish fillets in batter or breadcrumbs into Russia declined dramatically to X tons, which is down by -42.4% on the year before. In general, imports recorded a precipitous descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, battered fish fillet imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a sharp shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 20%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) were the main suppliers of battered fish fillet imports to Russia, with a combined 98% share of total imports.
