Belarus (X tons) was the main destination for battered fish fillet exports from Russia, accounting for a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, battered fish fillet exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X tons), twofold. Ukraine (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 20% share.

In 2021, imports of fish fillets in batter or breadcrumbs into Russia declined dramatically to X tons, which is down by -42.4% on the year before. In general, imports recorded a precipitous descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, battered fish fillet imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a sharp shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 20%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
