Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fuel or lubricating pump exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 147%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X units) was the main destination for fuel or lubricating pump exports from Russia, accounting for a 68% share of total exports. Moreover, fuel or lubricating pump exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X units), fivefold. Azerbaijan (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan stood at +11.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (-6.2% per year) and Azerbaijan (-5.8% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for fuel or lubricating pump exported from Russia were Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and the United States ($X), with a combined 53% share of total exports.

The United States, with a CAGR of +51.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average fuel or lubricating pump export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 29% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 47% against the previous year. For the fifth year in a row, Russia recorded decline in supplies from abroad of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines, which decreased by -1.7% to X units in 2021. In general, imports recorded a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 62%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fuel or lubricating pump imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest fuel or lubricating pump supplier to Russia, accounting for a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, fuel or lubricating pump imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a 6.8% share.

In 2021, the average fuel or lubricating pump import price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 57% against the previous year. In general, the import price enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
